This course provides foundational training on Airworthiness Directives (ADs), which are legally enforceable rules issued by Aviation Authorities to correct unsafe conditions in products like aircraft or engines. We will cover the mandatory nature of ADs—emphasizing that all applicable ADs are mandatory and cannot be deferred without authority approval—and teach students the critical skills for locating and interpreting ADs, including checking for emergency ADs and understanding key sections like the effective date. Finally, the course will clarify the relationship between mandatory ADs and Service Bulletins (SBs).
